About the Retreat
The Retreat takes the form of a workshop. Each day you’ll be presented with tools and techniques to support you for life.
There are regular breaks and the food and refreshments are carefully planned to ensure that you’re physically as well as emotionally looked after.
Each day will start with breakfast, followed by meditation and then our first workshop. We aim to finish at 9.30pm each evening.
The Retreat group is usually limited to 18 people maximum. Workshops are conducted with the whole group, and occasionally participants are sub-divided into smaller groups of no more that 6 people. Alongside input from the Retreat Leaders in plenary session or meditation sessions, any Exercises used are fully explained beforehand and may be done in a group, small groups, in pairs or on your own. The Retreat offers a unique approach, drawing ingredients from various modalities including NLP, coaching, mindfulness, spiritual and psychometric insights. Examples include journaling, examen of consciousness, values elicitation, meditation and guided visualisation.
The Ammerdown Centre, which is our venue for the Retreat, provides peaceful and comfortable surroundings, set in beautiful, natural and private grounds. The Centre staff are well versed in welcoming and serving guests, as are your retreat leaders. Creating space and the necessary conditions for your Retreat experience is a shared priority. However, it is important to remember that this is not a pampering Spa retreat.
Over the course of the Retreat there will be emotionally and mentally demanding periods some of which may feel challenging in the moment. As the week progresses we will engage a process that draws on the notion of PERSONA and invites you to become more consciously present to yourself and develop strategies for congruent living. The Retreat process seeks to equip you to live your life on your terms, to connect more authentically with those around you and to bring to fruition long held visions. In short, to Unmask the Real you and release your creativity.
We are each of us unique individuals with our own stories, web of relationships, experiences, skills, knowledge and aspirations. Because of that each participant’s experience of the Retreat will be different. It is, then, extremely important that you focus on your own journey. Over the Retreat period you will inevitably build new relationships with other participants and feel supported, encouraged and often inspired by them, and they by you. Cherish them for who they are, and yourself for who you are. Remember their story is not yours, and your story is not theirs. The Retreat is not a place to compare and contrast yourself with others, but to focus on the unique reality of who you are and the contribution you offer.
A key aspect of the Retreat is Presence. It is up to you how much you wish to share with others. To create and protect a sufficiently safe environment confidentiality is assured, both during and following the Retreat, all participants are required to observe and honour this stipulation. In addition, you are asked to moderate your use of phones, mobile devices and unrelated reading materials. This is to ensure that you are able to draw as much from the Retreat as you can. Rest assured, it is always possible for you to be contacted in an emergency.
